I have a Mac computer that is hardwired for Internet (I have a cable plugged into back of computer). My husband also has a computer hardwired, which is not a Mac. We also have wireless service. I have a mac (os 10.3.9) and just moved into a place that uses linksys and D-link (DI-624) to connect to the internet.
